FlashFocus is a vocabulary study app developed by Animus Games. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Who can use the app

FlashFocus is intended for users aged 13 and over.

Information we collect

• Account data (optional). You can use FlashFocus as a guest with no account required. If you choose to create an account via email/password, we collect your email address solely for authentication and syncing your data across devices. We use Firebase Authentication to manage accounts securely.
• Crash & diagnostics data. When the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics collects technical logs (device model, OS version, stack traces) to help us identify and fix issues. This data is used only for troubleshooting and stability improvements.
• Analytics data. Firebase Analytics collects anonymized usage data (feature usage patterns, session duration) to help us understand how the app is used and improve the experience. This data is not linked to individual identities.
• Content you create. Flashcards you add (word, pronunciation, translation) are stored locally on your device. If you have an account, this data is also synced to Firebase Firestore so it can be accessed across your devices.
• Purchase information. FlashFocus offers in-app purchases (credit packages) processed entirely through Google Play Billing. We do not collect or store any payment details such as credit card numbers. Google Play handles all payment processing. We receive only a purchase confirmation (product ID and order status) to unlock the purchased content in the app.
• Server logs. When you download language sets from the FlashFocus library, our server processes standard logs (IP address, timestamp) for basic security and abuse prevention.

How we use information

• Provide core app features: study sessions, quizzes, card creation, and set downloads.
• Sync your vocabulary, statistics, and purchases across devices (if you have an account).
• Process and fulfill in-app purchases.
• Improve app stability and performance through crash and diagnostics data.
• Understand aggregate usage patterns to improve the app experience.

In-app purchases

FlashFocus offers optional in-app purchases (credit packages) that allow you to unlock premium vocabulary sets. Key points:

• All payments are processed by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your financial information.
• Purchases are tied to your Google Play account and can be restored on reinstall.
• Some levels are free for all users (including guests). Premium levels require an account and credits.
• Purchased content is permanently owned once unlocked.
• For refunds, please contact Google Play support directly.

Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties. Limited information may be processed by our service providers solely to operate and improve the app:

• Firebase (Google) — Authentication, Firestore database, Crashlytics, Analytics.
• Google Play Billing — In-app purchase processing.

Advertising

FlashFocus currently does not display ads. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and our Google Play disclosures before showing any advertisements.

Data retention

• Account data: Retained as long as your account exists. You can request deletion by contacting us.
• Diagnostics data: Retained per Firebase's default retention period (typically 90 days).
• Local data: Flashcards and study history remain on your device until you clear app data or uninstall.
• Purchase records: Maintained as long as needed to provide purchased content and handle support requests.

Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), Firebase security rules, and secure authentication. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

Your choices

• Use the app as a guest without creating an account.
• Clear app data or uninstall to remove all locally stored content.
• Request account and data deletion by emailing us at the address below.
• Manage or cancel subscriptions/purchases through Google Play.

Children's privacy

FlashFocus is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

Changes
